Final spurt of the year for Mario

Mario Farnbacher’s last race in 2016 is scheduled for the upcoming weekend. After his victory at the beginning of October, the 24-year-old is once more at the start of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft. The tenth race of the season focusses on final testing of parts for the new car.

This last VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft race means the end of a very eventful year at the Nürburgring for Mario Farnbacher. As part of the Lexus development program, the RC F GT Prototype was tested under toughest conditions to prepare the car as best as possible for the 2017 final version. Test work in racing conditions will come to a conclusion on this last VLN weekend. After a successful 2017 car debut, Mario Farnbacher will continue behind the wheel of the present development car.

„The RC F GT Prototype often made life difficult for us and we needed a lot of patience. But despite all setbacks, we always managed to find a solution and use our findings to continually develop and improve the new car”, says Farnbacher, looking back over the season. „Together with the data from the last VLN weekend and new parts, we are now ready for the last test run of the year. I’m looking forward to it immensely and think we won’t have any major problems with the colder temperatures.”

The 41st DMV Münsterlandpokal of the VLN will take place this upcoming Saturday, 22nd October at 12 pm on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Fans can livestream the race with Mario Farnbacher on the official website (www.vln.de).
