Into the season’s second half with new impressions

Mario Farnbacher’s summer break ends on the first September weekend in Silverstone UK. After an intensive test program with his team Farnbacher Racing, the Lexus driver is confidently looking forward to the final three International GT Open race weekends.

“Two months break are a long time, but at last things are on the move again”, said the young man from Ansbach, full of anticipation for the coming guest performance. The 25-year-old had to miss out on the season’s fourth weekend in Budapest, because of a clash of dates with the IMSA SportsCar Championship, but now has his sights set on another podium finish in the UK.

The season’s second half will mean new ground for the Bavarian, who has never driven in the ‘Home of British Motor Racing’ before, but nevertheless is very confident before his premiere: “We’ve recently run a test in Silverstone and I must say I really enjoyed driving there. I quickly got a feel for the circuit and also think the track suits the car.”

Full of motivation, Farnbacher added, “On our test day, we were able to collect valuable information about the car and lay the foundations for our final setup. With the BoP adjustments and encouragement of many invited guests, nothing should get in the way of a successful weekend.”

The first race goes off on Saturday 2nd September at 16:15 (CEST), followed by the second race on Sunday at 14:15. Both races can be viewed free on the GT Open International website.
