The seventh round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft season ended prematurely for Mario Farnbacher. After about 30 minutes into the 6-hour race, the 24-year-old’s Lexus RC F GT3 was disqualified because of noise made by the Japanese sports car. Due to problems with the exhaust, the maximum permissible decibel noise level had been exceeded.
“Rules are rules, even if we didn’t have a competitive advantage”, Farnbacher explained unhappily. Next race for the young man from Lichtenau is scheduled for 17th September on the Circuit of the Americas in U.S. Texas. On the Austin track, the Franconian takes part in the second to last round and final phase in the battle for the IMSA SportsCar Championship.
