Farnbacher set to tackle the Six Hours of the Glen

Mario Farnbacher will be in action once again in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship this weekend. The German driver will be racing a Lexus RC F GT3 for 3GT Racing at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen.

This is the 26-year-old’s fourth race in the US this season, following appearances in Daytona, Sebring and Detroit. At his last race at Belle Isle Park on 2 June, Farnbacher took the class win in the Acura NSX GT3 for Meyer Shank Racing.

The Franconian is looking forward to getting back behind the wheel at Watkins Glen this weekend: “The victory at Belle Isle Park was brilliant,” he said. “I am returning to the US full of confidence. I’ve not raced the Lexus in the IMSA championship yet, but I still feel very comfortable behind the wheel of the RC F GT3. I think the Watkins Glen track should suit our car. The circuit is very quick and it’s great fun to race there.”

The talented driver will be racing for 3GT Racing in the #15 car in the GTD class this weekend. His teammates will be Briton Jack Hawksworth and Danish driver David Heinemeier Hansson. The Michigan-based team is completing in its second IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season with the Lexus RC F GT3.

The Six Hours of the Glen begins on Sunday 1 July at 9:45 am local time (3:45 pm German time). Fans can follow all the action on the series’ official website.
