Mario Farnbacher will be spending an entire 2019 season in the US. Together with Meyer Shank Racing and team colleague Trent Hindmann, the Franconian will be driving the Acura NSX GT3 Evo in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Cooperation with the team from Ohio is no unknown territory for the 26-year-old, who has already been behind the wheel of the squad’s Acura for the IMSA several times in 2018. Along with Katherine Legge, he drove to victory in Detroit as well as ranking third on the Virginia International Raceway.
In 2018, fellow driver Hindmann absolved his first full season in the US GT-Series. In addition, he’s been familiar with Meyer Shank Racing since 2017, when he finished second with the team in the Daytona 24 Hours and also the Petit Le Mans on the Road Atlanta.
“After the five assignments in 2018, I’m really excited about now spending a whole season with Meyer Shank Racing and am so thankful for this opportunity”, said Farnbacher with a view to 2019. “I think we’re in a good position with the Acura NSX GT3 Evo. We’re definitely aiming for the championship title and I’ll be doing my best as always to make it a success. I can hardly wait for the season to start!”
