Overall fourth in United States

Mario Farnbacher ends the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship with an overall fourth place. All the way to the final on the Road Atlanta in Georgia, the 23-year-old had fought for the American sports car championship title. However, brake problems during the “Petit Le Mans” dashed his hopes of a win.

Important championship points in Austin

At the penultimate round of the United SportsCar Championship on the “Circuit of the Americas” Mario Farnbacher crossed the finish line on fourth position in the GTD class, collecting some important points in the fiercely fought American sportscars series. At the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT America of the team Alex Job Racing Farnbacher impressed with a great fighting spirit. Together with his team mate Ian James he only just missed the podium on the five kilometres long race track in the U.S. State of Texas. “We have pushed hard, but that was all we could do”, explained Mario Farnbacher.

First Pole Position for Mario Farnbacher and Lexus in the VLN

For Mario Farnbacher, the six hour season highlight of the VLN Endurance Championship Nürburgring was an emotional rollercoaster. Together with his brother Dominik Farnbacher and Hiroki Yoshimoto, he made first grid position with the Farnbacher Racing Team’s new Lexus RC-F GT3 and continued the fast car’s successful development series. Despite bad weather conditions in the early stages, the trio held their ground in a field of 160 competitors. However, after four hours, a technical defect prevented them crossing the finish line.

Challenging weekend in the USCC

In pursuit of a top standing, Mario Farnbacher and his team colleague Ian James were disappointed after the seventh round of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship in Elkhart Lake. The young man from Lichtenau, driving a Porsche 911 GT America on the over six kilometre long Road America Circuit in U.S. Wisconsin, finished eighth in the GTD class. Heavy rain during training and a top speed deficit in the race dashed all the Alex Job Racing team’s hopes of success.

Podium premiere in the Lexus RC-F GT3

Mario Farnbacher and his Lexus RC-F GT3 are continuously gaining momentum. In the brand new Japanese sports car’s second race, the 23-year-old collected leading laps and finally celebrated a fantastic second place. “I can’t find the right words to express how happy I am. We never expected a podium finish in the second race”, said a beaming Farnbacher, who also had to cope with a heavy bout of flu.
